The first step is to ensure you are pre-qualified for a mortgage loan to finance the purchase of your new home, determine the price range, closing costs, etc. You will work with a Mortgage Lender who will assist in completing your application and gathering required documentation to obtain a pre-approval and discuss options available to meet your financing and investment goals. Most Lenders require the minimum following information that you can prepare in advance:
Federal Income Personal & Business Tax Returns with W-2 forms from the past 2 years. (Include all Schedules, Attachments, and K-1s)
Two pay stubs from the last 30 days
Two months of bank statements & investments statements
Copy of Picture ID & Insurance Agent's contact info
If Applicable: Award letters for social security and pension incomes, Proof of alimony/child support, Bankruptcy papers, divorce decree, recent 2 months or quarterly statements for 401k(s), stocks, and other investments.
